Our mission is to ensure that quality education and resources are accessible to children regardless of socio-economic barriers, by building sustainable partnerships and supporting learning initiatives.

    2) Scope

    This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, donors, supporters, and organisational partners who engage with the Benefure website, whether online or offline, and covers all processing of personal information by Benefure NPO.

    3) Information We Collect

    • Identity Information: Full name, surname, and identification details.
    • Contact Information: Email address, phone number, physical or postal address.
    • Business or Organisation Information: Company name, contact person, and registration details.
    • Payment Information: Processed securely through PayFast; we do not store your full payment details.
    • Technical & Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, device type, operating system, and website usage analytics via third-party services such as Jetpack.

    4) How We Collect Information

    • Directly from you via forms, donations, subscriptions, or communications.
    • Automatically through cookies and analytics when you interact with our website.
    • From third-party partners such as payment processors and mailing services (e.g., Mailchimp).

    5) Purposes of Processing

    • To manage donor or supporter accounts and communications.
    • To process and acknowledge donations securely.
    • To issue Section 18A certificates once our PBO status is approved.
    • To improve website functionality, engagement, and user experience.
    • To ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

    6) Legal Basis for Processing

    Benefure NPO processes personal information based on one or more of the following grounds:

    • Your consent.
    • Performance of an agreement (e.g., processing a donation).
    • Legal obligation compliance.
    • Our legitimate interests in improving our operations and outreach.

    7) Information Sharing & Disclosure

    We do not sell or rent personal information. However, we may share information with:

    • Trusted service providers (Mailchimp, Jetpack, PayFast, hosting providers) for operational purposes.
    • Regulatory or law enforcement authorities when legally required.
    • Partners involved in collaborative educational or fundraising initiatives, only where necessary and with consent.

    8) Data Security

    We employ encryption, secure servers, password protection, and access controls to protect data from unauthorised access, alteration, or misuse. Regular audits are conducted to maintain compliance with POPIA standards.

    9) Retention of Information

    Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law. Financial records are maintained for at least five years in line with statutory obligations.

    10) Your POPIA Rights

    Under POPIA, you have the right to:

    • Withdraw consent for processing where applicable.
    • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
    • Submit a complaint to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

    Donation Policy

    Thank you for choosing to support Benefure NPO. Your contributions help us create equal opportunities in education and build sustainable partnerships that benefit children and communities across South Africa.

    1) Purpose of This Policy

    This Donation Policy explains how donations are received, processed, allocated, and managed in line with Benefure’s values of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

    2) Donation Methods

    • All online donations are securely processed through PayFast, our authorised South African payment gateway partner.
    • We may also accept direct EFT transfers or in-kind contributions by prior arrangement.
    • Donations can be made by individuals, businesses, or organisations locally or internationally.

    3) Use of Donations

    Funds received by Benefure are applied towards our mission to ensure that quality education and learning resources are accessible to children regardless of socio-economic barriers.

    Donations may be used for:

    • Educational supplies, programmes, and learning resources.
    • Community outreach and child support initiatives.
    • Operational costs necessary to sustain the organisation’s objectives.

    Unless specified otherwise, all donations are treated as unrestricted and may be allocated where most needed.

    4) Restricted Donations

    If a donor wishes to support a specific project or campaign, the donation will be applied accordingly. However, if that project becomes oversubscribed or is discontinued, Benefure reserves the right to redirect such funds to similar educational initiatives in line with our mission.

    5) Donation Receipts & Acknowledgement

    • All donations are acknowledged via email with a confirmation receipt.
    • Once our PBO (Public Benefit Organisation) status is approved, donors will be eligible to receive Section 18A tax certificates for qualifying donations upon request.

    6) Refund Policy

    • Donations are made voluntarily and are generally non-refundable.
    • Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances (e.g., accidental duplicate donations) and must be requested within 7 days of the transaction by emailing admin@benefure.org.

    7) Security of Payment Information

    Benefure NPO does not collect or store complete card or banking details. All transactions are processed through encrypted, PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways such as PayFast to ensure your financial information remains secure.

    8) Transparency & Reporting

    • Annual financial statements are prepared and made available upon request in accordance with South African NPO reporting standards.
    • Project updates and impact stories are shared with donors through newsletters, reports, or social media channels.

    9) International Donations

    We welcome donations from international benefactors. When donations are made from outside South Africa, currency conversion and cross-border processing fees may apply depending on your payment provider.
