Benefure NPO

Donation Policy

Last Updated: October 2025

Thank you for choosing to support Benefure NPO. Your contributions help us create equal opportunities in education and build sustainable partnerships that benefit children and communities across South Africa.

1) Purpose of This Policy

This Donation Policy explains how donations are received, processed, allocated, and managed in line with Benefure’s values of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

2) Donation Methods

  • All online donations are securely processed through PayFast, our authorised South African payment gateway partner.
  • We may also accept direct EFT transfers or in-kind contributions by prior arrangement.
  • Donations can be made by individuals, businesses, or organisations locally or internationally.

3) Use of Donations

Funds received by Benefure are applied towards our mission to ensure that quality education and learning resources are accessible to children regardless of socio-economic barriers.

Donations may be used for:

  • Educational supplies, programmes, and learning resources.
  • Community outreach and child support initiatives.
  • Operational costs necessary to sustain the organisation’s objectives.

Unless specified otherwise, all donations are treated as unrestricted and may be allocated where most needed.

4) Restricted Donations

If a donor wishes to support a specific project or campaign, the donation will be applied accordingly. However, if that project becomes oversubscribed or is discontinued, Benefure reserves the right to redirect such funds to similar educational initiatives in line with our mission.

5) Donation Receipts & Acknowledgement

  • All donations are acknowledged via email with a confirmation receipt.
  • Once our PBO (Public Benefit Organisation) status is approved, donors will be eligible to receive Section 18A tax certificates for qualifying donations upon request.

6) Refund Policy

  • Donations are made voluntarily and are generally non-refundable.
  • Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances (e.g., accidental duplicate donations) and must be requested within 7 days of the transaction by emailing admin@benefure.org.

7) Security of Payment Information

Benefure NPO does not collect or store complete card or banking details. All transactions are processed through encrypted, PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways such as PayFast to ensure your financial information remains secure.

8) Transparency & Reporting

  • Annual financial statements are prepared and made available upon request in accordance with South African NPO reporting standards.
  • Project updates and impact stories are shared with donors through newsletters, reports, or social media channels.

9) International Donations

We welcome donations from international benefactors. When donations are made from outside South Africa, currency conversion and cross-border processing fees may apply depending on your payment provider.
